Okay, this one'll take some setup. This summer RandomGuy did a video for ComicCon featuring Deadpool...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcIjR...eature=channel

Which is a parody of an Old Spice Commercial...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owGykVbfgUE

Which was also parodied by Grover on Sesame Street...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkd5d...layer_embedded

So apparently this commercial became a meme and I never noticed...

http://www.unnecessaryquotes.com/

The Blog of Unnecessary Quotation Marks. These guys take photos of signs that seem to have...well...unnecessary quotation marks.

(See, if this was TV Tropes I'd link to the Exactly What It Says On The Tin page)

Anyway, a few of these are quite funny.

A cafeteria sign: Please don't waste "food items".

PNQ: Why can't the sign just say "Please don't waste food?"

A dance center sign: Come visit our "state of the art" facility...

PNQ: How can a dance center be state of the art anyway? It's just a few kinds of flooring, some handrails, and proper lighting, right?

A sign: "Wet." "Paint."

PNQ: So it may or may not be wet, and it may or may not be paint?

And so on...

You gotta hear the voice of this guy they're getting to play the part of Marty McFly in the new Back to the Future game. It's uncanny.

Wow. That's a good voice.

It's interesting thinking about Back to the Future with regards to video games. It doesn't seem like an old movie, but it was released in 1985, shortly prior to the US debut of the Nintendo Entertainment System. That the NES seems archaic by today's standards probably just shows how far video game technology has advanced in the past 25 years, but it gives an interesting sense of perspective. No doubt the new game will be much more advanced than the early 8-bit adaptations of the films.

In any case, I'm looking forward to learning more about this project.

This is cute. Batman has to talk to Bruce Wayne in the old '60s show. It's great how Adam West attempts two different voices, but doesn't quite pull it off.

Someone created a 900 GB torrent of ALL of the former Geocities.

Who has a terabyte of hard drive space AND the time to sort through all these pages?

More to the point, who has the time and patience to download a 900 GB file?

I haven't played the Duck Tales NES game much, but I do feel nostalgic enough about it to love this remix of the Moon theme.

What are "sweded films"? Fans making abridged remakes of famous movies. They're really funny.

Incidentally, I have since happened across Oocities and Reocities, both of which appear to be bent on putting as much of Geocities back online as they can manage.

The Shepherd, by Hermas:
Quote:
The Shepherd of Hermas (Greek: Ποιμήν του Ερμά; Hebrew: רועה הרמס‎; sometimes just called The Shepherd) is a Christian literary work of the second century, considered a valuable book by many Christians, and considered canonical scripture by some of the early Church fathers such as Irenaeus. The Shepherd had great authority in the second and third centuries. Along with the Apocrypha, it was bound with in the Codex Sinaiticus, and it was listed between the Acts of the Apostles and the Acts of Paul in the stichometrical list of the Codex Claromontanus. Although Early Christians afforded the work high respect, they did not consider the work to be on a par with those considered "divine" but rather apocryphal.

http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/875/...arina-of-time/

Back in 2006 someone copy-pasted my Ocarina of Time fiver into the Neoseeker Forums.

Could someone who has Facebook get this guy's e-mail address so I could message him? I don't particularly feel like registering for this forum just to send one message.

I like it when people make Mario Paint versions of songs, and you gotta hear this version of the Inspector Gadget theme.

Someone took clips from "Amok Time" and spliced them together with narration to look like one of those old-timey anger management videos. It's a real hoot.

^ The other instructional videos are funny, too. The lip-synching in the "Space Date" one is pretty good.

The Most Useless Machine Ever.

When you flip the switch to turn it on, a arm pops out of a hole to hit the switch to turn it off. Hilarious.

EDIT: Also known as a Leave-Me-Alone Box. There are dozens of these videos. All kinds of boxes and arms, including a few made out of LEGO!

EDIT EDIT: http://www.leavemealonebox.com/ The homepage for the idea, with plenty of videos, an old magazine clipping showing how old the idea is, and the programming required to make one.
