[color=#000000ost_uid0]For those of you unfamiliar w/the [bost_uid0]NitPicker's Guide to
Sci-Fi[/bost_uid0] stuff (also known as [bost_uid0]The Galactic Handbook[/bost_uid0]), there's a website out there where someone who calls themself [bost_uid0]8of12[/bost_uid0] decides to write a review for certain TV shows (Buffy, ENT, Farscape, Stargate, Dr. Who, and other Trek show too) but they also decide to tear apart all the little mistakes and various flubs that occur during each episode. :dead: :eyeroll: There's a movie review for [bost_uid0]FotR,[/bost_uid0] as well as one for [bost_uid0]ST:NEMESIS[/bost_uid0] which is new to the Site, but be sure to click around & check out all the other stuff that's there... like movie poster parodies and a lot of [bost_uid0]SIM TREK[/bost_uid0] skins and items. [color=#000000ost_uid0]Ah yes, 8 of 12. The "pathetic friend Voyager" guy. It's not that his nits aren't valid -- they usually are -- but I've never liked the attitude. Guess I shouldn't criticize, though. I've been known to thrive off nits....[/colorost_uid0]

If that had been written as, "I've been known to thrive off [bost_uid0]nit-wits[/bost_uid0]..." then some of us might think you were referrring to [bost_uid0][iost_uid0]US,[/iost_uid0][/bost_uid0] Zeke! :lol: But you're right, his words do have too much of an attitude behind them, although I personally think that his website isn't that bad. BTW, have you ever seen [bost_uid0]THIS PIC[/bost_uid0] in the [bost_uid0]Farscape[/bost_uid0] section? Look [bost_uid0][iost_uid0]real[/iost_uid0][/bost_uid0] close at the bottom and tell me if you see something funny w/[bost_uid0]Talyn's[/bost_uid0] "hand of friendship."[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Hi there, everyone. Nedstat picked up that people were getting to my site from this thread. I seeeee alllllllll.
And yes, I often referred to Voyager as 'pathetic friend voyager', because I deserved it. Back in the days of Deep Space Nine, I used to be a really big Star Trek fan. Voyager killed it for me. Enterprise hasn't done anything to redeem itself. To the extent where I'm considering dropping Enterprise from my list of shows to nitpick. At the moment it's Farscape, Stargate, Buffy, Angel, Doctor Who. Plus one movie a month. That's more than enough for me. But yeah, my dislike of Voyager is pretty plain. And I'm not ashamed of that. If anyone wants to throw any questions at me, I'd be happy to answer. ~8 of 12~[/colorost_uid0] |

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I have a question, & it's also kind of a request...
Are you going to nitpick more [bost_uid0]Farscape[/bost_uid0] EPs? There's nothing wrong w/[bost_uid0]Buffy[/bost_uid0] and [bost_uid0]Stargate[/bost_uid0] if you're working on that right now, but [bost_uid0]ENT[/bost_uid0] and [bost_uid0]Farscape[/bost_uid0] are all I'm interested in right now, and you just mentioned that you're going to drop [bost_uid0]ENT[/bost_uid0] from yr [bost_uid0][iost_uid0]list-of-things-to-nitpick[/iost_uid0][/bost_uid0] soon. I'd also like to say that I like the layout of yr Site, and I think you should try and link it to [bost_uid0]5MV[/bost_uid0] but you'd have to speak to the boss first, [bost_uid0]Zeke.[/bost_uid0] (His E-Mail add is all on the [bost_uid0]5-Min-VOY[/bost_uid0] homepage.) :bigsmile:[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I put up a new nitpicker's guide to a Farscape episode last night. Farscape is a little hard for me to come be (I'm in Australia) and I've already completed guides to the first two seasons. Season 3 is now past the halfway mark. And I haven't seen any of season 4, except for the first episode.
I haven't dropped Enterprise yet. Not definitely. But the show isn't doing anything that makes me want to continue it. The bad thing is that I mightn't have much choice. If I want people coming to my site, I have to try and keep the content new... and with Farscape and Buffy ending and Stargate coming to the final season... it's depressing. The reason I don't like nitpicking Enterprise? Trekkies scare me. I get one hell of a backlash from the fans. I swear, if I had my home address on the website, I'd recieve letter bombs. It's not worth the trouble if they can't see any opinions but their own. But then again, my website's busiest days are when a new Enterprise guide goes up. :O I'm glad you like the layout of the site. I think I like this design enough to stick with it. But when there's more than 500 pages, conversion is a slow process. And I won't try to link with 5MV, because I get the distinct impression that I'm not liked in the Star Trek community. [color=#000000ost_uid0]Are you kidding? At least half the vocal Trek community is made up of bashers, moderate and extreme. Disliking [iost_uid0]Enterprise[/iost_uid0] is almost guaranteed to make you more friends than enemies in the current fandom climate. Lord knows the bias against [iost_uid0]Voyager[/iost_uid0] worked that way.
I feel bad arguing with you, 8, because I know you've been a supporter of 5MV for quite a while now (I've read your comments in BBS threads and such). Don't take any of what I've said as an insult to you. We just disagree on the quality of the last two Treks (okay, [iost_uid0]diametrically[/iost_uid0] disagree), and I do find the attitude you take on in your nitpick pages pretty abrasive, but that's largely a persona.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I didn't take any of it as an insult, Zeke, or as an arguement. We have different opinions, but oh well. People disagree on things all the time. Despite the fact that I've long since lost the faith in Star Trek, I'm still a nice guy.
And heck, you'd have no idea that I'd stroll along into this thread. You probably thought you had free reign to critisize. Which you do, don't get me wrong. You won't say anything that I haven't heard before. [bost_uid0]NAHTMMM[/bost_uid0], I like your thinking. 'stealing the thunder for five years' would make a good website slogan. And Mat, I have never seen Cronenberg movie. :S[/colorost_uid0] |

Well, I try to be the kind of guy who doesn't usually say things about people that he wouldn't want them to read. Gotta admit your appearance did startle me, though. Glad you're not miffed. To make one last observation about the nitpicking, something I was very pleased to notice is that you're equally hard on the other shows you dissect, although you probably like them better. To me, that's a sign of good humour: one of my credos is that it's unhealthy to take anything so seriously you can't laugh about it. Thought about sticking around and registering? We'd be glad to have you. The more the merrier, as they say, and I'm eager to get this place back up to 100 members. [EDIT: Apparently that was our 4200th post. Neat.][/colorost_uid0]
