The Five-Minute Farscape Subsite FAQ by Zeke |
Q: What is Five-Minute Farscape?
It's the subsite of Five-Minute Voyager dedicated to Farscape. It's referred to by the abbreviation 5MF. (See the main Five-Minute Voyager FAQ for information about the site as a whole.) Q: Who's in charge? The section head of 5MF is Zeke. He adds new material periodically and handles any submissions to the subsite. You can contact him at [email protected]. Q: Is 5MF open for submissions? Yes, and we welcome new contributors. Many episodes are available, though a few have been claimed. Before you start, read through the Submissions FAQ. Q: Why is "Premiere" a guest fiver? Doesn't Zeke have a policy of doing the series pilots himself? How did you know that? It's not in any of the FAQs... Anyway, that's correct, but in this case there were special circumstances. When 4GOM sent me the "Premiere" fiver, Farscape was no longer being shown in my area; I'd only seen one episode and it hadn't grabbed my interest. In short, I didn't foresee ever creating a whole section for the series, so I decided to publish the fiver. About a year later, the Space channel picked up Farscape. I gave it another shot and was absolutely blown away -- I've been a devoted Scaper ever since. That, combined with the three guest fivers Merlin sent me and the show's premature cancellation, eventually led me to create 5MF. But since I already had 4GOM's "Premiere" fiver, my pilot policy now has that one exception. Q: "Help Save Farscape" from what? Farscape was cancelled by the Sci-Fi Channel while the last few episodes of Season 4 were being filmed, for reasons that many viewers consider extremely suspect. (In fact, the Sci-Fi Channel had been enthusiastically promoting the series all year.) Not only was the show cut down with plenty of stories left to tell, but since the last Season 4 scripts had already been written at the time, the season ended on a shocking cliffhanger which now may never be resolved. One of my main reasons for creating 5MF was to raise awareness of the series' plight; accordingly, I've included a permanent link to Save Farscape, a large, well-organized fan campaign determined to see the series live on in some form. If you enjoyed Farscape, follow the link and find out what you can do to help. |
