The Five-Minute Enterprise Subsite FAQ by Zeke |
Q: What is Five-Minute Enterprise?
It's the subsite of FiveMinute.net dedicated to Enterprise, the fifth live-action Star Trek series. It's referred to by the abbreviation 5ME. (See the main Five-Minute Voyager FAQ for information about the site as a whole.) Q: Who's in charge? The section head of 5ME is Zeke. He parodies the episodes as they appear... theoretically. You can contact him at [email protected]. Q: Is 5ME open for submissions? No. Due in part to his contract with the Trek Nation (see below), Zeke is committed to writing all the Enterprise parodies. He's currently way behind, but he has been before, and he fully intends to complete Seasons 2 and 4. Q: Why do the Enterprise fivers appear both here and at TrekToday? Christian Hhne Sparborth, webmaster of the Trek Nation network of sites (including TrekToday), offered me a co-publication arrangement based on my Voyager work. It's a mutually beneficial setup -- I reach a larger audience and TN gets more content to post. Q: Is there a difference between the Trek Nation copies and the ones here? Nothing big. The only particularly noticeable one is that the description blurb for an episode may be different here. That happens because I actually have to come up with two for each episode at TN (a long one for the article list on TrekToday.com and a short one for the sidebar that appears on every Trek Nation page). I then pick one of those blurbs or combine the two in some way, and that becomes the one we use at 5M.net. There are two other small differences: the TN versions have an author blurb at the end that I change each time, and the fivers sometimes appear a bit earlier there than here. Q: What's with the German and Czech versions? Two foreign sites -- st-enterprise.de and zirland.cz -- have independently translated some of my Season 1 fivers into German and Czech, respectively. I've linked to them as an additional resource for any visitors who happen to speak those languages. Q: Did Trip really try to kill Phlox? Nope. One special characteristic of my fivers for Enterprise is that they often include extra subplots that weren't in the original episodes. Basically, if it doesn't sound like something the show would do, I probably made it up. |
